Built a free sports app solo — launching Wednesday, would love your feedback

by

Hey Product Hunt community! I'm Kendall, a solo developer from Utah. I'm launching Tākaro Sports this Wednesday and wanted to share the story and get some early feedback.

I built Tākaro Sports while working full time as an IT technician and studying for my Software Development degree. No investors, no team — just me, a lot of late nights, and a genuine frustration with having to switch between 5 different apps just to follow sports.

What Tākaro does:

  • Live scores across NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, Supercross and more

  • Betting odds and line movement updated in real time

  • Automatic CLV tracking — no spreadsheets needed

  • Bet slip import via photo — auto-fills everything

  • PrizePicks and parlay support

  • De-vig fair line calculator

  • Completely free, no subscription, no bet limits

4 weeks since launch:

  • Users in 15 US states and Italy organically

  • Zero paid marketing

  • Built solo with React Native, Expo, Supabase and Vercel

The name Tākaro comes from the Māori word for game or play — felt fitting.

Would genuinely love feedback from this community before Wednesday. What would make a sports app part of your daily routine?
