Supabase is an open source Firebase alternative. It is a hosted platform that provides a full Postgres database, User Authentication, OAuth logins & magic links, Realtime subscriptions, and auto-generated APIs.

This looks really promising! I've mostly used Mongo so far but I'd choose Postgres for my next project. One question: if I have an already hosted & running Postgres db, can I use Supabase with it?

@matijash at the moment no - we started with "bring your own database", but there wasn't enough interest so we added our own database hosting. We're considering bringing it back, but it has some technical requirements (WAL replication, pg12+ etc)

@copple This sound interesting, biggest hassle is managing global functions or deployments, which verssel has solved, with superbase its religion or global?

We haven't added functions yet (Q2 2021). Our databases are single-region at the moment, but we will be bringing out replication to multiple regions soon

Sitll can't find proper documentation for self-hosting an instance on Linux container for Supabase. Unless I have not found the right page? Solid product @antwilson @copple

Supabase a suite of 6 tools (and growing), so we don't have an easy way to install it as a "single server" yet. We'll add a way to do self hosting as soon as we add all the necessary features (storage and functions). Supabase is awesome! Been playing around with it and I'll no doubt use it in my next project! It's just what I need. Thanks a lot to the Supabase team for working hard with so many cool releases as well as for supporting the Flutter community ;)
