StudioLayer - The all-in-one workspace for film and music creators

by
Filmmakers and musicians juggle 12 disconnected tools. StudioLayer puts the entire workflow in one place: scripts, shot lists, storyboards, audio markers with MIDI export to your DAW, IP protection, a stock marketplace, courses, and a creators-only social feed. AI handles the busywork — reels, lyrics, cue sheets, scene breakdowns — so you focus on the craft. Built by an audiovisual creator, for creators.

Hey Product Hunt 👋 I'm Dennis, an audiovisual creator. For years I bounced between Final Draft for scripts, StudioBinder for shot lists, Pro Tools for audio, Excel for cue sheets, a static portfolio site, and Instagram to "showcase" — none of them talked to each other. Every project meant exporting, reformatting, re-uploading, losing context. StudioLayer started as a tiny tool to mark hit-points on a video and export them as MIDI to my DAW (still one of my favorite features). It grew into the platform I wished existed: • Story → Shot → Audio → Release, all connected • A creator-only social feed instead of fighting Instagram's algorithm • A stock marketplace where the assets come from creators, not corporations • AI that absorbs the busywork: storyboards, reels, lyrics, cue sheets, scene breakdowns We went live on April 6, 2026. The hardest lesson so far has been resisting feature creep — every creator I talk to wants "just one more thing". So we kept it focused on the core workflow and let AI handle the long tail. Would love your feedback, especially from filmmakers, musicians and indie creators: **What's the one tool in your stack you'd most love to stop using?** — Dennis 🎬🎵
