Hey Product Hunt!  I’m the solo developer behind Sonant. I built this because I was tired of the constant context switching just to skip a track or check an artist's name. I wanted something that felt like it belonged in the macOS menu bar. Why Sonant? Native & Light: It’s a 3.5MB universal binary. No Electron, no bloat. Visualizer: A real-time audio tap visualizer (opt-in) that just looks cool while you work. Privacy: No accounts. No tracking. I don’t even want to know what you’re listening to. I’d love to hear what features you’d want to see next. Special Launch Deal: The app is a one-time purchase (no subscriptions!), but for the PH community, use code SONANTPH50 at checkout for 50% off. There’s also a 7-day free trial on the site if you want to kick the tires first. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts!

Hi I was trying out the app but it does not load at all. I checked Activity Monitor and it shows as "Not Responding". Any idea why? I'm on macOS 26.5

Hi Xin! Thanks so much for reaching out and catching this. I'm really sorry it's hanging on launch for you. It's possible a minor change in the system's permission handling or CoreAudio process taps is causing an unexpected deadlock on first run.

I want to investigate and fix this for you immediately. Could you try a quick sanity check for me? If you hold down the Option (⌥) key while clicking the app to launch it, does it let you bypass the initial setup freeze, or does it stay locked up?

If it stays frozen, I would love to grab a quick spin/diagnostics report from your Activity Monitor. If you could save that text file and email it to me at , it will show me exactly which thread is stuck. Thanks so much for your help debugging this!
