I was tired of juggling 5 different tools.
WeTransfer to send a file. Pastebin to share a code snippet. bit.ly to shorten a URL. And every time, my data ending up on servers I don't control.
So I built SnowShare 🏔️
An open-source, self-hostable platform that centralizes all of that:
→ File sharing (like WeTransfer)
→ Code snippet sharing (like Pastebin) → URL shortening (like bit.ly)
All in a single interface, on your own server, with your own rules.
Stack: Next.js, Prisma, NextAuth, deployable with Docker in minutes.
The project just hit 63 ⭐ on GitHub, which still makes me smile with every notification 🙃
Next steps: keep iterating based on community feedback, and ship some features I've had in mind for a while.
If you care about data sovereignty or just want a clean tool to self-host, I'd love to hear your feedback 👇
