Will this sync sessions to google calaendar?
Philip Young
@joelrunyon this is a good idea. I've talked to few users and can see that there are segments of people using calendar as a main tool to plan their day. Would you say it's more beneficial to see your Calendar event on Session—or see your sessions in your calendar event?
Joel Runyon
@philipyoungg I want it written after-the-fact to gcal and then I can rate it using a tagging function that exists in something like Woven
Philip Young
@joelrunyon OK, so you want to see your Sessions on other calendar app right? Session only works as logging mechanism for you to work. Interesting. I'll think about it.
Joel Runyon
@philipyoungg No I mean - just log what the session was and create an event on gcal about it. The other apps will do the rest.
Philip Young
@joelrunyon That's exactly what I'm saying 😂

Would love to try it with Android / Windows :)

@delrio Not now! Maybe later 😊

I'd consider buying this product only for a fixed price. I don't need sync or cloud features. I don't expect any support, unless it stops running (which I don't expect to happen often). For this product and benefits it offers subscription is insanely expensive and completely unjustified. There are plenty of Pomodoro timers that offer 80% plus of what Session does, but for a fixed price and without claiming to be more what they actually are.

@new_user_0faf7c8f54 thanks for the review without even using it!

@new_user_0faf7c8f54 Hey, thank you for reaching back! I did respond to negative and positive feedback—otherwise, I won't bother spending 30 minutes writing https://www.producthunt.com/post... to you—especially as your account looks like throwaway account (no identity, low activity). But I do believe you are genuinely a good person and you bother spending your time typing it, so I replied to you as best as I can. Regarding how I deduce you didn't use the app: > For this product and benefits it offers subscription is insanely expensive and completely unjustified. There are plenty of Pomodoro timers that offer 80% plus of what Session does, but for a fixed price and without claiming to be more what they actually are. I assume you have only tried the free version and haven't tried the Pro one (because you said it's not worth it)? I feel that's not a fair assessment to give a review based on that. Even if you tried the Pro—you might not be the target market and don't feel it ~brights~ bring (EDIT: typo) enough value to you. And that's okay. Regarding the subscription business model. I've replied it so I don't feel I need to justify it further here. Everyone has their unique needs. Session is a niche product. I'm not trying to please every potential target market and to be the solution for everyone.

Been using the free version for the last 2 weeks – great product, loved it! ❤️ Didn't explore the stats yet, just used the timer.

@dmitru Thank you Dmitry!

Hey Philip, will be giving this one a shot. One thing though, it's really difficult to find it due to a generic name. I kept getting back to the Setapp website. Finally "session pomodoro timer with analytics" did it for me, but "session macOS", "session opmodoro timer" etc. didn't :)
Philip Young
@szymon_krzeminski Thank you Szymon! Yeah it's really hard to "win" in App Store Optimization. Lots of similar name. Having it generic is also not helpful. Where are you located by the way?

I have a history of not keeping up with time-tracking. Session's not a time-tracker per se— it's not about producing timesheets or linking to invoices— but the combination of features it offers (customisable Pomodoro sessions, iOS widgets, Shortcuts integration, filterable lists of previous tasks, calendar integration, stats and visualisation) are perfectly balanced and exactly what I need to stay focused and manage my time appropriately. Too many pomodoro and time-tracking apps ignore the fact that you probably already have a task/project management system elsewhere. Session doesn't suffer from that kind of silo mentality, and is flexible enough to use as a standalone timer or (with a little Shortcuts/Siri know how) to complement an existing system. Added to my stack of essential apps.
