What's the biggest mistake first-time founders make before launching?
by•
I'm not the founder of StartBusiness—I'm part of the team, and while working with entrepreneurs and startup founders, I've noticed a common pattern.
Many founders spend months building the "perfect" product before validating demand. Others launch quickly but underestimate marketing, sales, or the operational side of running a business.
I'm curious to hear from people who have actually built businesses:
What's the biggest mistake first-time founders make?
If you could start over, what would you do differently?
What's one lesson every new entrepreneur should learn early?
Whether you've built a startup, run a small business, or are currently launching something new, I'd love to hear your experience.
Looking forward to learning from the community

Solid question! From launching a few products myself, I'd say the biggest mistake is not prioritizing outreach and distribution early enough...if I could start over I'd focus on that from day one. If you're up for it, I'm launching The Sponge...an AI-powered flashcard tool...on PH soon...would appreciate a follow (See "PRODUCT HUNT LAUNCH" Link in my profile)
