I built an app because I couldn't decide whether to get divorced

by

I spent months stuck on major life decisions — move to SF? Take a new job? End my marriage? Pros and cons lists just made it worse. So I built Clarified — a decision-making app that asks what matters to you, how you want to feel, and gives you a clear answer in 60 seconds. Built by an overthinker, for overthinkers.

Would love feedback from the PH community → tryclarified.com

so did you make your decision based on Clarified?
are you happy with those decisions?

@tinnix_he I used the the v1 one of it yes, indeed. I am VERY happy with my decision. I haven't felt this good in a long time. Someone once said "just because you walk through the wrong door, doesn't mean you need to stay in the wrong room". I've applied this thinking to my decision making.

@nel_lansley That's great to hear!!! sounds like it would be a great idea for anyone with decision-making difficulties over mundane things like: what food to order at 2am, so one could save their brainpower for better things (i would personally still leave the big decisions to my own critical thinking though haha)

I like your app: I looks nice and helped me decide if I should go to bed, now (23:17h my time, answer: Yes)

On the other hand, going to AI for critical advice on life-changing decisions is something I would not do. I'd still try to find a good coach, a therapist or even more than one, and talk with friends and family.

Based on my (very limited) experience with asking AI about more or less important life decisions, AI tends to emphasise directions and not correct them if necessary, which might lead to very (I mean very ) bad outcomes.

The way your app is built (2 simple questions, and inference, instead of long, persistent conversations) is most probably safe, but still, I would rather take professional advice when it matters. When I did, it was always a win, even if I decided differently in the end. Most times, I already "knew" what I wanted, but did not uncover it.

@mitja_martini hey Mitja, truly appreciate the time and the feedback. My aim is certainly not to take the place of advisors / professionals, but moreso help structure decisions for those who tend to overthink and spiral. Sometimes, at the end of the day, it doesn't matter what decision you make, so long as you make one. Confirmation bias then leads us to believe it was the right decision all along.

Thanks again for your time.

Not something I struggle with, but I know plenty of people who would do summersaults over this. I could see this app blowing up because of the 24/7 storm of information and "analysis paralysis." UI is clean. I'm giving it a good luck up vote!

I think most peopple struggle with tough decissions, but that doesn't mean they can't take decissions. Struggling is what makes it bearable when taking a decision, specially if it ends up being the wrong one.
However, for simple decisions like what to eat, and non-life important decisions, i guess your app could help some people if they have trouble making those decisions.

I like the clean UI. Good job :)
