I built a tiny pixel pet that follows your cursor β would love feedback from fellow makers πΎ

Hey PH folks π
Iβve been doing some vibe coding lately and ended up building Cursor Pet β a small browser extension where a pixel-art pet follows your mouse and idles when you stop.
It started as a fun side project, but it got me thinking about micro-delight in everyday tools. Sometimes small, playful elements can make long browsing or coding sessions feel lighter.
Iβd love your thoughts on:
Do playful UI elements help focus or distract you?
When do you decide a fun side project is ready to ship?
Sharing it on Product Hunt mainly to learn and improve:

Thanks, and happy building. π

I love this idea. As someone who stares at a screen all day, tiny moments of delight actually help me stay engaged. The pixel pet feels charming, not distracting. Side projects like this remind me why I enjoy building in the first place.
@kathrine_rolceΒ This means a lot ,that balance between delight and distraction was exactly what I was aiming for. Glad it resonated with you π
This really resonates with me. I've noticed playful UI elements make long sessions feel less heavy. Your pet feels like a quiet companion rather than noise. I usually ship when something makes me smile consistently and this seems to do that well.
@magdalena_andersonΒ This made my day. If it feels light and companionable, then itβs doing its job. πΎ
Honestly, this is the kind of micro-delight I appreciate. I don't think fun always equals distraction. For me, it boosts mood and keeps me focused longer. I usually ship side projects once they feel emotionally "complete," not technically perfect.
@karishma_yadav3Β That has a strong resonance. Shipping that feels right, rather than perfect, is something I'm learning to trust more.
