How much time does a solo real estate agent actually waste on admin? We tracked it.

by

We have been speaking with solo real estate agents across the US while building something in this space, and one question keeps coming up: how much time are agents actually losing to admin every week?

So we started tracking it across every conversation we had.

Here is what we found on average:

  • MLS listing updates: 3 to 4 hours per week

  • CRM updates and follow ups: 2 to 3 hours per week

  • Transaction paperwork and deadline chasing: 3 to 5 hours per week

  • Scheduling and calendar management: 1 to 2 hours per week

  • Social media and marketing: 2 to 3 hours per week

That is 11 to 17 hours per week on tasks that have nothing to do with closing deals.

For an agent doing 2 deals a month, that is nearly half their working week gone to admin.

We are building something to fix this. Not there yet, but getting close. Would love to hear from anyone in real estate or adjacent service businesses: does this match what you are seeing?
