Building a private personal medical record iOS app: I'd love your feedback
Hey! I'm an indie iOS developer from Italy, and after months of development I've finally released my app, Clino.
The idea came from a simple frustration: medical information is usually scattered everywhere. Symptoms, medications, test results, doctor visits, diagnoses... they're often spread across notes, PDFs, emails and different apps, making it difficult to get a clear picture of your health.
So I built an app that lets you keep everything in one place. You can log symptoms, conditions, medications, therapies, exams, doctor appointments and specialists, connect them together, and even mark the exact location of symptoms on a detailed 3D body model (muscles, bones and organs).
One of the features I focused on the most is the PDF report. It automatically creates a clean, chronological summary of your medical history that you can share with your doctor before or during an appointment. It also includes an AI-generated overview to make the information easier to review.
Privacy was non-negotiable for me. There are no accounts, no external servers, and your health data stays on your devices. The AI runs entirely on-device using Apple Intelligence, and if you use multiple Apple devices, everything syncs through your private iCloud (CloudKit).
The app is now available on the App Store, but I'm already working on future updates and I'd really love feedback from people who actually manage their own medical history.
If you could add one feature to a personal medical records app, what would it be? I'd love to build the features that people genuinely find useful.
And if you'd like to try Clino, I'd be happy to hear your thoughts!
