SeenPool is building the permanent verified archive of eyewitness footage. Quick Check is a free tool we built on the side (a journalist friend needed a fast way to check files sent by sources, so we built it).
Most AI detectors answer one question: "was this image AI-generated?" Quick Check answers a different one: "Is this file what my source claims it is?" That's a different problem which most tools don't solve.
I made Quick Check to look at five things every file leaves behind:
• original metadata
• encoding anomalies
• AI generation patterns
• frame continuity
• and device signature
It then tells you exactly what it found. No verdict theater. No false confidence. Just the signals.
A few things worth knowing about Quick Check:
• It's built for files sent directly to you, not social media downloads. When a platform's re-encoding strips the signals, Quick Check tells you clearly rather than returning a misleading result.
• Nothing is stored. File deleted immediately after analysis. The result link lives for 72 hours, then it's gone.
