While traveling abroad in Greece, I realized how irritating it was finding information on individual beach destinations. There was no centralized site where I could find comprehensive data on different beaches and their activities, amenities, and attractions nearby which often significantly diminished my family’s vacation experience and made travel decisions unnecessarily stressful!
At Sandee we have created a Yelp for beaches for the 1.5 billion people who visit the beach each year. Over the last 8 years, we have spent more than 300,000 hours cataloging more than 100 categories of information for every beach in the world to create the best beach resource across the 7 seas – more than 100,000 beaches in 212 countries. Our mission is to give beachgoers around the world easy-to-use information that will help them plan visits to their favorite beaches. 🗾🗽🏛️

As a surfer I would really appreciate if the rating for surfing beaches was adjusted for the season as different beaches work differently throughout the year.

The search bar is something we've been waiting to optimize. We are planning in the coming months that users will be able to type complex queries such as, "Show me the top 5 best dog friendly beaches in San Diego."
@randallkaplan That's great! Since I live in Rio was one of my go to queries. And also since I live in Rio, I am fascinated for beaches and one of my favorite places to be. Great tool and keep up the awesome work!
The page for Coney Island had amazing detail and actually gave me one or two new activities to try after eighteen years in NY. Love the site and I'm excited to see where you go in the future!
