⛔ Do personal problems affect your work?
by•
The last two days, I had some personal problems and spent basically the whole time trying to solve them.
And during that time… I did no work, no posts, no ideas, no inspiration, nothing... =D
Just me, solving my own puzzle !
It made me wonder:
Do personal problems affect your work too?
Do you have any hacks for putting your personal headaches aside somehow and still staying focused and productive?
Or do you just accept that sometimes your brain is busy with something else and let it be?
The funniest part was getting a full DM with people asking ,,where are you on Product Hunt?,,
Honestly, that made me much happier =)
Maybe disappearing for two days is also a way to find out people actually notice you! =D

A walk and no phone for 20 minutes somehow fixes more than another hour staring at a screen.
But honestly, how do people actually compartmentalize personal stress and work? I have never figured that out.
Sometimes disappearing for a couple of days probably does more good than forcing yourself to post. Did you feel more refreshed when you came back?
They absolutely do, and I've stopped fighting it. My hack: when life gets messy, I shrink the day to one tiny task — if I finish it, the day counts as a win. Usually the momentum sneaks back on its own once the personal stuff settles. And honestly, disappearing for a couple of days isn't the worst thing — your DMs prove people notice you, which is a good problem to have =)
I usually switch to easy tasks when my brain is overloaded. Emails, cleanup, admin stuff. Nothing requiring genius 😂
Does anyone actually manage to leave personal problems at the door, though? Feels impossible sometimes.
I have had "productive" days where I finished everything except the one thing I actually needed to do 😂
Oh yes, this is real and applies to almost everybody. Some may pretend and say they engulf themselves in work to replace their personal problems but that depends on the stress level of life or the situation.
100% YES, personal problems affects your energy level and productivity level at work. Idea are sabotaged, inspired is dampened, energy is drained. I have been there and there is nothing to lie about it.
What helps me in those situations when productivity is hindered is take a break, do something else, chat with like-minded people or friends. One thing I keep doing is journal ideas or thoughts during those moments.
