Feature spotlight: tasks and daily habits roll up into the same goal
Hey folks following along here. Thanks for sticking around before there's even a live link to hand you. Starting today I want to use this space differently: instead of build logs, I'll walk through one thing Retic actually does, one post at a time.
First one: how a goal's progress adds up from whatever's actually happening underneath it, whether that's a one-off task or a daily habit.
Say you're prepping to launch a side project: build the landing page, buy the domain, post a daily build update, set up the waitlist, launch on Product Hunt. Most of those are one-off tasks, but "post a daily build update" is something you do every day, not check once and forget. In most setups that habit lives in a completely different app from the launch checklist, so nothing ever connects "posted today" back to "launch is X% ready."
In Retic they're the same list. Checking off a task counts, and so does completing today's habit, so the goal above reads its progress from whatever you've actually done, task or habit, and updates itself, no second step.

That's the first spotlight. If you've had a habit that was supposed to feed into a bigger goal but lived in a separate app instead, how did you end up tracking whether it was actually moving the goal forward, or did you just stop trying?
