How much control do brands really have over what AI says about them?

Your website tells one story about your brand. Reviews, comparison articles, industry publications, and community discussions might tell another.

When buyers ask AI for recommendations, these external sources can influence which brands appear and how they're described.

At ReSO AI, we're looking beyond owned content to help brands identify the external signals influencing their visibility.

Do you think brands should spend more time improving their own websites or building a stronger presence across third-party sources?

Thirdparty sources, easily. Buyers don’t often take a brand’s website copy at face value, and LLMs work the same way they look for consensus across reviews, forums and comparison articles. you can have the fanciest website in the world, but if Reddit g2 or industry blogs arenot talking about you, youare essentially invisible in AI recommendations.

I would separate missing mentions from wrong facts

If an answer repeats an outdated price, record the prompt and cited page first, then correct that source and retest the same question before adding more listings

building presence across industry blogs and discussions is getting way more critical now. websites are easy to optimize, but shaping how external communities talk about a brand is the real challenge for AI visibility.
