Reindeer is a Cursor-like IDE for databases. It understands your database schema, generates production-ready SQL in seconds, autocompletes, and fixes without ever leaving your IDE.
Hi Product Hunt! π
Thanks for checking out πππ’π§ππππ«
My team and I built Reindeer to solve a problem we kept running into every single day.
For the past year, most of my work revolved around databases and writing SQL queries (a lot, actually). Whenever I switched from writing code to writing queries, my productivity dropped immediately. I had to constantly jump between ChatGPT and my IDE, copy-paste table schemas, and manually write 50β100 lines of SQL.
At some point I caught myself thinking..
Why is there no cursor for databases? π€
So we built Reindeer.
Reindeer understands your database schema, generates production-ready SQL in seconds, autocompletes, and fixes without ever leaving your IDE.
and the best part? It's 100% free to get started!
Sign in, grab your free API key, and youβre good to go.
Iβve been using Reindeer at work, and it has significantly improved my productivity. I shared it with friends and colleagues (they loved it), and now weβre excited to share it with the community β€οΈ
Would love to hear your thoughts and feedback!

@joyal_a_johneyΒ From a vague MVP to a working product, and finally here. Super excited and proud to launch Reindeer, and also being part of a great team that made this possible. Canβt wait to hear what everyone thinks!π π¦

As someone who works heavily with Postgres on a daily basis , tracking bugs and tuning queries, this feels spot on.
Massive congrats to the entire teamβwishing you tons of traction ahead!
@rohith_cmΒ Awesome! π Super glad to hear that! Curious, do you use any other database apart from postgres, would love to prioritise the upcoming releases for our power users π
Major congratulations to the @joyal_a_johney and the whole Reindeer team! π¦
I remember hearing about this when it was just an idea during your hackathon, itβs incredible to see it launched and fully realized today! That journey from an initial spark to a live product is a massive achievement.
Huge kudos to you all for the hustle, the dedication, and for bringing this brilliant concept to life. Best of luck with the launch and the next phase of growth!
@vipin_raj_k1Β Thanks Vipin! β€οΈ Means a lot. Weβve put a lot of effort into polishing the product and making it production ready. Btw, what database does your team use? We support Postgres for the initial launch, but will be rolling out support for major ones soon
@steven_crakeΒ Thank you Steven! β€οΈ Great question!
Reindeer is built for developers who already know SQL, so you always have full control over what gets executed.
We never auto-run queries, you review and approve everything.
That said, we have taken extra care in the system prompt, & prepared guardrails to reduce the hallunication as much as possible. Reindeer helps you more with the query authoring part. what used to take 10β15 minutes now takes seconds. Much like Cursor!
I spend most of my day debugging issues, checking logs, and fixing or optimizing database queries. This used to take a lot of time since I had to switch between multiple tools and manually write long SQL just to understand what was happening.
Reindeer changed that for me.
Really happy to finally share this with the community.
I've been using Reindeer for a little while now, and it's been a total game-changer for my development workflow. As someone who deals with complex queries pretty regularly, the schema awareness and SQL generation have been incredibly helpful.
I was wondering if there are any plans to add support for ClickHouse in the future? That would make Reindeer absolutely perfect for my needs.
