The folks over at Reflect finally opened up their service to the public. If you find yourself wasting time designing and building dashboards you should just use this.

We're thrilled to announce the opening of Reflect to the public! Within minutes, you can connect to your existing data sources, design interactive views of your data, and embed them into your application or service. My co-founder Brad Heller and I started Reflect to create a better way for companies to design, publish, and share their data. We had experienced the pains of building analytics and reporting and wanted to help others learn from our past mistakes and give them tools to create great products. Traditional analytics and BI vendors didn’t understand modern use cases or the needs of developers, so we set out to create a new category: data visualization-as-a-service. Anyone can now sign up on our website. Give it a spin and let us know what you think. We look forward to working with you in 2017 and beyond. Thank you for all your support!

@abilmes Registered an account the day before PH launch but my login isn't working. Have tried resetting PW multiple times. Any ideas?
Alex Bilmes
@jbschaff have you checked your junk mail? If that isn't it, shoot us a note to support@reflect.io and we'll get you sorted.

What do you think is the biggest advantage to using Reflect over something like raw d3.js?
Alex Bilmes
@bmajz We bundle a reporting API with with pre-configured visualizations and design tools, so you don't have to build data infrastructure or write a ton of code. A big chunk of what we do is in the data modeling and API layer, but visualizations are how you get the value. We actually use D3 under the hood to power our visualizations. It's a wonderful library.

Wahooo!

Nice design, especially the last slide in the gallery. What do you recomend as a layer between raw data and your viz?
Alex Bilmes
@eonpilot Thanks! We provide the middle layer. The last slide of the gallery is our data modeling UI. Just connect your datasource and we do the rest.

@abilmes If my source isn't CVS. Any service you would recommend to conform the data to CVS first then push to your service?
Ken Kaczmarek
@eonpilot @abilmes What is your original format? Our startup (https://www.flex.io/) does this kind of repeatable data glue (focused on data/file processing, rather than workflow automation like a zapier, etc). Currently in private beta, but looking at adding connections for beta testers, including dataviz endpoints like Reflect...
Alex Bilmes
@eonpilot what format is it right now? Smaller files like Excel can be exported to CSV through Google Sheets.
Alex Bilmes
@wanderslth @eonpilot We can connect to Postgres, MySQL, Redshift, SQL Server, and CSV. We don't store the data, so if you connect a source we query it directly.
James Futhey
Very polished. Any plans to integrate with BigQuery?
Alex Bilmes
@futhey we're working on that next ;)

This is amazing! I would love to use those beautiful visualizations. I loved the design! Signing up now.

Congrats Alex & Brad, very excited to see all the progress.

Looks very good guys. Just created an account, is there any way to use Firebase as a datasource?
Alex Bilmes
@baboon sorry we don't support Firebase currently. We've noted your request. Thanks!
Horea Burca
@abilmes Cool, thanks! That could really be interesting for you guys, I've literally not found any ready-made solution for visualizing Firebase data. Or at least add JSON support, it's weird that it's not an option.
Alex Bilmes
@baboon JSON support is coming next!
