Recall release notes, September 12, 2026: Your second brain reads EPUB books & text on social posts
This week we opened up new kinds of content for your second brain. You can now save EPUB books, photo sets, and social posts with text-in-image into Recall, then search and chat with all of it in one place.
EPUB books in your second brain
Upload an .epub and it becomes a card you can read, search, and chat with, next to your articles, videos, and notes. One file at a time, or up to 10 together on Plus and Max (20 MB each).

Read the images in social posts
Save a photo post from Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook, or LinkedIn and Recall now extracts the text inside the images, then adds a visual description. Carousels stay in order, slide by slide. Mixed image-and-video posts keep both. OCR is on images only for now, not video frames.

Several photos, one card
Handwritten notes, whiteboards, and screenshots that belong together can live on one card instead of ten. Share one or several photos from your phone, then combine or split them. Recall reads the text and describes each image so your second brain can search and chat with the set. Multi-image upload is on Plus and Max.

Faster mobile search
Search runs in your library now. Find cards, select several results, and run an action without opening a separate search window.
We also shipped a long list of fixes across chat, notebooks, imports, exports, and device sync. Get the full update here: https://feedback.recall.it/changelog
Next for the second brain RSS feeds (our most requested feature), a faster mobile load, and MCP write access so connected tools can add to Recall, not just read from it.
