Really interesting extension. Getting it now to test it. Congrats on the launch, team!
Thanks man!
Is this open source? How can we trust that our data is secure?
Hey Mike, no it is not open source. Any data that you save to the Recall app the primarily saved in IndexedDB locally in your browser, we then have a syncing engine that keeps data in sync between devices and also acts as backup. If there is demand for it, we could add end-to-end encryption which would actually not be too difficult with our setup as all queries are done in the client.
I think this is very important. Allowing browser extensions to read the data you have loading in your browser is obviously extremely dangerous if you cannot audit the code.
Congrats on the launch! The Youtube summarisation is excellent and is a great way to capture ideas from interesting discussions.
Thanks Andrew!
