Hi PH! We built Ratio because, as lifelong science nerds, we strggled to find peers who wanted deeper science talks without a PhD. One of us is a Forbes 30u30 designer, another a Mensa member, and the third an indie hacker who loves building niche communities.. We have self-funded Ratio to keep it focused on the mission: make real research feel approachable and worth discussing. Feedback is gold to us, so please tell us what would make Ratio your daily science stop

Hellooo, Product Hunters! We just launched Ratio — a social platform for anyone who’s ever been curious about science but felt like it was locked behind jargon, gatekeeping, or 100-tab rabbit holes.

Ratio simplifies science and makes it social.

🧠 Why we built it

Science today feels privileged.

It’s written like homework. Shared in PDFs. Hidden behind paywalls.

But curiosity? That’s universal.

We believe that if you make science accessible, human, and collaborative, people will care.

So we built Ratio for:

• The girl who loves space but doesn’t know where to start.

• The guy who reads Reddit rabbit holes at 2AM and wants smarter conversations.

• The forever-curious human who wants to learn, ask, and connect — without feeling dumb.

✨ What you’ll find on Ratio:

• 📚 Simplified summaries of cutting-edge research

• 🤖 AI explainers and community questions

• 💬 Group chats (Circles) based on shared interests

• 🧩 A culture of curiosity, not ego

We’re in beta and launching with early communities of science lovers and tech-curious minds from around the world.

I found a lot of interesting articles about technology and culture in the recommendations. I would like to spend more time on Ratio than on other social apps.

💎 Pixel perfection

Ratio is a breath of fresh air for science-minded users!

This product truly impressed me with its concept: byte-sized research summaries, AI-driven forums, and the Circles feature — it’s exactly what’s been missing in the social media landscape.

Big bonus: no ads, no paywalls, just pure knowledge sharing. The design is clean, UX is intuitive, and the focus on curiosity and community is spot on. I’m excited for the full release and will definitely recommend it to peers in STEM and academia.

Love science and love Ratio! There haven't been a ton of relatable platforms while I was growing up. This looks like the next pop-sci thing for the youth!

Marzhana

@amina_kobenova1 We are super happy that you found it useful! It's just the beginning – we will push the boundaries and make science cool again!

Tilek Mamutov

I love that Ratio tries to make science much more accessible and sexy for all curious people out there! Good luck to the team!!

Anastasia Dzebisova

As a product manager, I love seeing tools that actually make complex things more human!

Ratio hits a real pain point science today feels inaccessible unless you’re an academic. But curiosity is universal.

Really liked:

  • Bite-sized, AI-powered research summaries great for quick context

  • Circles small group convos are an underrated format

Excited to watch this evolve!

As a medical doctor, I’m always eager to explore new scientific ideas beyond my own field. Ratio has been a fantastic platform for this, the concise research summaries make it easy to stay informed even with a busy schedule, and the discussions often lead me to think about topics in ways I hadn’t considered before.

It’s rare to find a space online that feels genuinely focused on learning and curiosity without distractions. I’m looking forward to seeing how the community continues to grow.

Saida

I don’t have a deep scientific background, but I’ve always been curious about how things work. Ratio has made it easy to explore new ideas without feeling overwhelmed, the short research pieces are clear and engaging, and the discussions often spark my interest in topics I’d never thought about before.

It’s refreshing to find a place that makes learning feel accessible and enjoyable. I’m excited to see how the platform grows!
