Why we built PlanBoards after getting frustrated with modern productivity tools

For the last few years, productivity apps have become very powerful… but also increasingly overwhelming.

We kept seeing the same problems:

• too many clicks

• slow loading

• cluttered interfaces

• complicated setups

• features most people never use

We wanted something different.

PlanBoards was built around a very simple idea: Visual task management should feel fast, intuitive, and lightweight.

That’s why we focused on:

• instant board organization

• rich notes directly inside cards

• simple collaboration

• clean visual UI

• and one feature we personally missed everywhere:
  sharing cards with anyone using just a link - no signup required

It turns out people often need to share tasks, notes, photos, checklists, or instructions with clients, freelancers, family members, or external people who don’t use the same app. So we built that into the core experience.
