I wonder if Affinity is going to do an update with AI to compete with this release from Pixelmator.

For my limited photo editing needs this is perfect. Anything to get out of Adobe's clutches.

I know, I know, there aren't many of us, relatively -- but this is something Linux users would actually pay for, owing to the lack of competition (aside from Gimp). Y'all would be freakin' HEROS.
Report
@cacarr even though I would probably also buy something like that I doubt that many Linux users would. For it to be adopted in the Linux world it would have to be open source and more modular I think... The way of the gnu. This might never happen. But hey! AI is coming, so why bother editing images... With a mouse?
Report
@mckean I think *most* Linux desktop distro users are not FOSS religionists -- closer to Torvalds than Stallman. :-)
Many front-end devs who use Linux exclusively would jump at the chance to buy this, I strongly suspect. No ACC to compete with. It would be a welcomed, missing tool.

Windows version, please.

Why is Pixelmator $76 in the German store, $59 in the US one, and $49 in Asia?
Report
@legerdemain Same reason it is $84 here in Canada. Different currencies have different values.
Report
@andreasduess That is after equalizing the values. We don't use Dollars in Europe, we use Euros. After exchange rates, we still pay 35% more.
Report
We want Windows version.

No alpha channel support, not for pros.

Great!

Fuck these guys. I bought Pixelmator because on the App Store, it had no mention of the fact that it was being phased out. Phased out for Pixelmater Pro, of course, and they can say whatever they want about how they'll still support it for a while and it doesn't change teh fact that I bought a dead product and the one i actually want, Pro, is now the price I paid for Pixelmator+the price of Pixelmator Pro. They could ahve easily mentioned this on the app store page or even the Pixelmator section of their website, but nope
e: and this was recent. both were out. they use BS excuses every time someone brings this up, using the App Store as a scapegoat even though that is total bullshit
