The idea came from a genuinely painful personal experience — trying to plan a long-distance train journey from Kanpur to Parli. What should have been a simple search turned into 2 hours across IRCTC, NTES, Google Maps, an MSRTC portal, and a Reddit thread just to figure out whether a connection at Jhansi was actually safe or a disaster waiting to happen. The core problem isn't that the trains are bad — it's that the information is completely fragmented. No tool tells you the probability of missing a connection based on how that specific train actually performs historically. No tool shows you that getting off one station early and taking a 20-minute auto unlocks a faster express. No tool tells you where the AC lounge is at Nagpur Junction when you have a 2-hour wait. So I started building PivtTravel — a journey optimizer that connects Indian Railways, state road transport (MSRTC, APSRTC, UPSRTC and more), metro networks, and local transit into a single ranked, risk-scored result. The approach evolved a lot. I started thinking purely about train routing, but quickly realized the real gap was multimodal — the bus to a nearby station, the auto to the metro, the MSRTC connection that nobody surfaces. Adding a connection safety score (Safe / Tight / Risky) based on historical delay data was the moment it clicked as something genuinely different from what exists today. Still early — launching the waitlist now to validate demand before building the full data pipeline. Would love feedback from anyone who's felt this pain. 🚆

India has 23 million daily rail passengers but zero tools that tell you whether your connection is actually safe — or whether a 20-minute bus to a nearby station unlocks a faster express train.

We built PivtTravel to fix that. But we want to hear from you:

If you've ever planned a complex train journey in India — what was the most frustrating part?

Was it not knowing if your connection buffer was enough? Finding out about a better route too late? Hunting for the AC lounge at midnight at Jhansi Junction?

Every answer helps us prioritize what to build next — connection scoring, station amenity maps, state bus integration, or something we haven't thought of yet.
