How i cant try before buy?
Joseph Callaars
@douglasevaristo I will supply a trial once the app is released, but since it's an early release version I didn't bother creating one. You can however buy it and request a refund within 14 days if you don't like it.

Hi! I'm the creator of Pica Pica, and I would be more than happy to answer any questions if necessary! Pica Pica is still in the early release phase, but it's stable and usable.

@bcallaars Is the "API may not be production-ready" warning a cya or are there specific instances of fail?
Joseph Callaars
@kkdub In all honesty it's more to the point of: I literally haven't used it in a production environment yet, and although I know it's robust, it's also still in its early stages. The more I work on it, the more I'm going to be confident about it and remove that in due course.

Cool idea, can you give us examples of APIs built with Pica Pica? @bcallaars
Joseph Callaars
@paladinint Since it's still in its early stages, I've only been using it myself personally and some small group of people. For me currently I'm building a recipe manager with it. The more I work with it personally, the more things I see I want to have in as well. Ha! :D

@avadhbsd Thanks, appreciate it!

I assume it will export a source code to Docker. Which technology is it? NodeJs? Ruby? Python? PHP? In the future you might want to add docs using OpenAPI Specification (Swagger)
Joseph Callaars
@orask YES! There is Swagger documentation, but it's generated *in* your API, so that is already there when you start it. The tech set up is Node.js LTS with a SQLite database. You can just pull the source code out of the Docker container if you like, but in due course I will make it easier to customize it without anyone having to fiddle around in it. Not sure how to do that yet, but I'll come up with something!

I was once walking on a dirt road in Guatemala. I saw a small animal run into a pile of cut-down branches. Anxious to see the critter, I started pulling away branches. Eventually I uncovered an enormous iguana. But within minutes, my entire body was burning and itching. It was unbearable. I kept walking and eventually found a local villager, who I asked about the burning. "Those branches," he said, "that's the pica pica. We cut it down before it blows into the village."

@dustinlocke Hahaha. Love it!

This is something my designer can use to prtotype basic a API's himself. This is awesome!
Joseph Callaars
@likalo_llc That's literally why I made it!

A bit late for a comment but nevertheless worth it. After a few weeks of working with Pica Pica here are my comments: - This software was on my wish list, so when I saw it on PH I thought to give it a try. - For less than the cost of a WordPress template you can get a powerful tool to build a RESTFUL API in minutes, not to mention that you can get your money back if you decide this app is not for you. - Native, clean, easy-to-use interface and the ability to create as many APIs as you wish. - SUPERB support period!!! I bought Pica Pica from day one so I encountered a few bugs on the way. What I didn’t expect was the outstanding support from Joseph, a smart and honest guy that responds in seconds if you have a question. - All in all, I would highly recommend you to TRY Pica Pica, you definitely will speed up your new projects and step up your game. I’m excited to see what else Pica Pica has for the future…maybe a package ready to deploy to prod ;-) Thanks @bcallaars

Like both the idea AND the brand name. Care to share how did you choose it?
Joseph Callaars
@double_u_d The idea comes from the fact that I've been building API's for such a long time, I found out that basically all start up projects needed the same kind of simple API. I figured it would save me so much time and effort (and the customer money) if I could just generate the end points needed through a couple of clicks. Of course one of the main features it should have is that it would be customizable at a later stage. The name comes from the latin name for the Common Magpie, which is somewhat of a local thing here in the north east of England, UK. For example Newcastle United are also commonly called the Magpies. So basically I thought it was relevant for my location.

Cool idea!

@bitler Thanks!
