This launch page seems like it would confuse and alienate most people outside the world of product makers and marketers, do most of you disagree? Is this really the right way to go for a consumer product outside of just appealing to the PH community? Is that really the right early audience for this product? Mobile page had no calls to action even. Feel like most people would just churn.
The main reason why we're building stuff is the consensus factor. We don't like following rules. I agree that we're ignoring conventional knowledge but that's the motivation behind peek. Therefore we don't really care having no call to actions at all. Thanks for your comment Lukens.
Damn it, got bamboozled again! Beware of rickroll in the "footer".
Best Landing Page Ever. You'll laugh going through this... 😂
thanks a lot!
Funny landing page
thanks a lot!
LOL best landing page ever
Pretty cool app! Facebook log in is a little annoying but that's because Facebook sketches me out
I wouldn't have DL'ed this to try except for the copy on the web page. Brilliant. Giving it a try tonight.
Do I get cookies if i spot typos?
hahahaha who knows
I'm working in Brazil and it was so nice to see a stream from back home in East Village, NYC! Once this hits critical mass, I could see using this to check out a protest on 6th Ave, whether a party at a bar is worth going to, or how crowded the park is. One inconvenience is the number of push notifications I'm getting. It seems like the app sends one for every new stream. I turned them off for now but I'd turn it back on if they were a little more "intelligent". Maybe just notify me if a certain stream gets popular or if there's one within a certain distance of me.
thanks a lot for your kind words. you're right about the push notifications, we weren't expecting this much love so we're now fixing it.
What are the advantages compared to Facebook Live?
great question. the motivation behind peek is going live from exactly where you are (a pub, a ceremony, a festival, anywhere). We want to emphasize locations instead of people (e.g conventional media) so "What's happening right now " is the question we're trying to answer.
thansk for the clarification. IMHO with Instagram just releasing Location Stories it will bee too long before they add a Location Lives feature. Like the idea tho. Congrats! :)
totally agree. but again, we're differentiating ourselves with being different. no followers, no profiles and so on. thanks again for your feedback, stay tuned to see where the hell peek is going. cheers man!
