Hey Product Hunters! ๐Ÿ‘‹ I'm excited to launch Papyrus today ๐ŸŽ‰ At the start of this year, I set a personal goal to blog more. I wanted to 1) improve my writing skills โœ๏ธ, 2) build an audience ๐Ÿ‘ซ, and 3) if the stars aligned, start earning a bit of income via paid subscriptions ๐Ÿ’ธ. I looked at the existing blogging/newsletter solutions out there, and none of them quite fit what I was looking for. They had paywalls (Medium), features I didn't need (Wordpress), too minimal a design (Buttondown), lacked transparency (Substack), or cost money even when I wasn't earning yet (Ghost). So, I built my own. Papyrus is privacy-first, with no trackers or tracking cookies. It's โšก๏ธ blazing-fast and SEO-first: all blogs load and navigate instantly (seriously - give it a try!). And, there's no bloat- just good, modern writing & reading. You can write blogposts in markdown, let your readers subscribe, and (when you're ready) connect with Stripe to start charging readers for access to paid posts. Best of all - we only earn when you earn! We take 5% of paid subscription revenue; but other than that, it's 100% free. We're still in the early stages, so any feedback would be great! Thank you, Product Hunters! ๐Ÿ‘‹

@colin_armstrong "privacy-first, with no trackers or tracking cookies", "blazing-fast and SEO-first" โ€“ TAKE MY MONEY!! Great job Colin! ๐Ÿ™Œ

@steventey Much appreciated! ๐Ÿ˜Žโšก๏ธ

Wow clean, minimal and the lighthouse scores are off the chart ๐Ÿคฏ! ?makers is it possible to have a subdomain on papyrus rather than a slug URL? and Is it possible to make blog only posts and/or newsletter only posts? + embed form to collect emails? I guess that's a big list of questions, but I'm excited for the product - you have any public roadmap kinda thing?
Colin Armstrong
Thanks, Fardeen! Subdomains instead of @slugs arenโ€™t possible right now, but we do support custom domains, which is even better! You can make blog-only posts (just untick the โ€œsend as newsletterโ€ checkbox when publishing a post). Newsletter-only posts, as well as the embedded email collection form are both on the roadmap though! A public roadmap is a great idea. Weโ€™ve been iterating very quickly, so having a central place with all these feature requests and upcoming launches sounds great. Iโ€™ll work on putting a public roadmap together!

This has got to be the simplest signup flow I've seen in a while โ€“ I was literally able sign up, create a blog, and connect my custom domain in less than 5 mins. Great job on shipping this, Colin! ๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿ™Œ

your website seems down.
Colin Armstrong
Interesting - what error are you receiving? I can access it fine, and analytics are showing a bunch of users on it right now as well

Awesome! Thank you!

I like the concept. The one thing I do not like however is the Logo in the top left on my Blog. While it's a pretty logo, it's showing too much and making it look like a Papyrus blog instead of mine. If this was not there, or it was more subtle, or I could have either a custom one, then that would make me definitely go for this solution.
Colin Armstrong
Thanks for the feedback! You can actually change this today - in your blog settings, if you upload your own logo, it will replace the default Papyrus logo.

Zapier support would be awesome, that way I can integrate Papyrus with either Gumroad or Flurly
Colin Armstrong
@indieahmed Thanks for the feedback! Zapier support is on the roadmap.

Very cool design! Can we import subscribers as well like Substack or Mailchimp?
Colin Armstrong
@farokh_shahabi Yes! You can import subscribers from Substack, and I'm actively working on adding support for other platforms. I'm also happy to do a one-off import for you if you'd like - just shoot me an email if you're interested!
