OPENHONK v1.0.17 — Tablet Layout, RSS Date Sorting, Tablet Preview
Tablet layout optimization across all screens — home screen, category grids, carousel screens, and RSS feed now cap content width and center on larger screens. Category grids show 4-5 columns on tablets instead of 2-3, with capped tile sizes for a cleaner, less stretched look. New Tablet Preview toggle in Settings lets you preview the tablet layout on a phone. RSS feed articles now sorted by publish date with latest content at top — items without valid dates are pushed to the bottom. RSS cards now show full date and time alongside relative time.
Changes:
Tablet 2-column home screen layout — custom layout for tablets that fits all tiles on screen without scrolling
RSS feed card width fix — cards now have consistent width on tablets
RSS HTML entity decoding — fixed ’ and other HTML entities showing as raw text in article titles
REEL browser theme fixes — fixed garbled emoji in theme icons, removed blur on theme preview images, fixed spinning animation on last theme
REEL browser exit button — added a back arrow button inside the REEL browser for easy navigation back to the app
Back arrow fix — fixed back arrow and header buttons not responding to touches across all screens; animated backgrounds no longer intercept touch events
Share button fix in categories — fixed the share button not working inside sub-category screens
Search layout fix — search grid now constrains to screen width on tablets and landscape mode with 4-column layout
Theme animation coverage — fixed animated backgrounds not covering the full screen in tablet landscape mode
Theme transition gleam fix — diagonal shine sweep now works correctly in landscape mode
Bumped version to 1.0.17 (versionCode 18)
