Product Hunt 🤝 OpenAI

by

OpenAI just dropped , their largest model yet, and we're teaming up with them to get it into makers' hands.

Here's the deal:

- Build something with Sol, Terra, or Luna
- Schedule your launch on Product Hunt for July 23

- The top products walk away with $10k in OpenAI credits

If you've had an idea sitting in your notes app waiting for a model that could actually pull it off, this is the excuse. GPT-5.6 launched here just a few days ago and the early projects coming out of it are already impressive.

Drop what you're planning to build below and remember to 👀

Great campaign.. just one question.. The Top how many products get the 10K credits plz..

Thanks for the heads up on this one. Any time PH and OpenAI cross paths, it's usually worth paying attention to because it hints at where builders are going to be spending most of their time next.

What I care about most is whether tighter OpenAI integration helps founders ship faster without adding another dependency headache. If it reduces glue code and duplicated infra work, that's a real win. If it just becomes another "connect an API key" moment, less exciting.

me and my team are building a utility app for Nigeria, and we need some dev to contribute there knowledge to it

We’ve submitted SubSchool major update relaunch and hope to join on July 23

GPT-5.6 now turns descriptions, books, and videos into editable courses, generates homework from tutoring sessions, and grades essays and spoken interviews with teacher review. Terra is the default, with Sol available for harder tasks.

We also built an MCP server so Codex can create and update real courses, lessons, and exercises, and shipped rebuilt teacher and student apps.

Exciting timing. We’re building PodcastorAI, which turns links, PDFs, and rough ideas into structured audio and video podcasts. The real test for us would be whether GPT-5.6 can turn a messy 30-page document into a podcast people actually want to finish, not just a generic summary with two voices. Really curious to see how it handles long-form context, source accuracy, and natural multi-speaker dialogue.

GPT-5.6 is changing how fast we can build. I already use AI to generate wireframes and explore ideas, but human taste is still what turns those ideas into products people trust. AI accelerates execution. Designers shape the experience.

I just launched

entirely made with 5.6 solar, thanks for the reset by the way ;)

I had planned on launching Tripshaper.com in August but Sol is eating through my weekly token limits like some kind of crazed pacman so I will try hard to be feature complete by the July 23 deadline!

Just launched "Are you found by AI?" and I will be releasing a Chrome Extension version of on the 23rd of July.

Ooh nice! I'm working on launching an open-source database. AJSONDB is an open-source database engine being built around JSON as a native data model—not as a text blob, compatibility layer, or afterthought. Not sure exactly when the first version will launch. I'm thinking sometime this month perhaps, unless I run out of credits. I'll shoot for July 23rd launch date. I'm at 85% usage now which reloads on the 19th!
