❤️🔥 We told you we were relaunching...!!
Yes, it's been a long time coming! ... but launch day is upon us.
Anyone who's ever walked the halls of indie-development knows that no product ever feels ready to show. Even now, the list of in-development improvements and features is so long that tomorrow's relaunch here on 😻 Product Hunt just feels wrong.
... but if we never do it, we never do it.
[Update: Nourish is live today. 🚀]
So! ... without any big fanfare ... without pestering PH grandees - like the inimitable @chrismessina - I've made the executive decision (easy when it's a board of one!) to show you all what we've been up to.
Nourish has been re-imagined around a "Channel" based architecture. News by subject not by headline.
And it takes some getting used to ... as the feedback has been. It's Marmite (is there a less British idiom for something you either love or hate)...
... but what I do know is this: if you want to stay informed about what's going on in the world .. but you don't want to have to wade through click-bait and anxiety-inducing headlines ... let Nourish help you form a healthier daily news habit.
And yes! We're still deeply in `BETA` ... so don't be shy about your feedback. We always love to hear from you.

Nice idea tbh, especially the “channel based” thing instead of just endless headlines.
I feel like news apps nowadays all kinda push same dopamine scroll loop, so anything that organizes by subject sounds refreshing.
But I wonder how it handles overlap though.Like one news can fit into multiple channels (politics, tech, economy etc), does it duplicate or just pick one? That part usually gets messy fast.

Thanks@hosseinyazdi 🙌 ... this is exactly the thing we're trying to fix: the dopamine scroll thing.
Overlap is a great challenge - well spotted.
Partly our channel design means that there's not that much natural overlap.
Partly, there's a 3-ring dial that fills with time, countries & topics - to help you limit your time reading, while covering a broad range of topics/countries. It means you're discouraged from reading everything every day anyway...
We've four marquee channels:
Five-a-Day = 5 stories; one national*, one international*, one strange, one fascinating, one positive.
Around The World = 5 stories from countries that don't get much coverage otherwise.
Who's New = 5 stories about people who are hitting the headlines; mini biographies, obituaries etc.
No'mo FOMO = 5 of the big stories you'd probably expect to see, if you're headline hunting.
There's then an "Editor's Pick" section with a few channels on the big global topics (Iran, Ukraine, etc)...
Then we break into the usual; politics, business, social, environment, sport, etc for each region*.
The engine is pretty good at working out what goes where, before building each daily edition...
... but you're right - it's a challenge we're always trying to get better at.
Can I count on you to take a look tomorrow Hossein?
Take care. 🫶
* we're working on international editions - slightly UK focused just now ...
Really interesting direction. The “channel-based” structure feels like a genuine attempt to move away from doom-scrolling headline culture. Curious to see how it performs once the novelty wears off.
