Just shipped a big one: Netfox is now fully localized.
๐ New languages: ๐ฎ๐น Italian ยท ๐ซ๐ท French ยท ๐ฉ๐ช German ยท ๐ช๐ธ Spanish (alongside English) โ and it follows your Mac's system language automatically, no setting to flip.

Nice update. Localization is one of those details that can quietly unlock a much larger user base, especially for developer tools that otherwise feel English-first. Iโd be curious whether youโre tracking which languages drive actual activation, not just page views, because that could guide the next set of translations.

Honest answer on the tracking: I don't, and honestly can't with a straight face. Netfox is a network monitor, so "phones home to measure activation by language" is the one behavior it should never have โ no usage analytics, no telemetry. The app just follows your Mac's system language, so it quietly speaks whatever you already use.
So the next languages will be demand-driven the low-tech way: what people ask for (threads like this one), where downloads come from, and issues that land in a non-English language. IT/FR/DE/ES were the first wave โ if there's one you'd want next, I'm all ears ๐
@gfazioliย That makes a lot of sense, and honestly it is the right call for a network monitor. No telemetry is a stronger trust signal than activation tracking in this case. Demand-driven language expansion feels more aligned with the product: support the languages users actually ask for, without quietly measuring them in the background.
Really surprised how actively this app is being maintained. frequent thoughtful updates are a huge plus.

I am using it in French now. Everything feels natural, which is not always the case with app translation.

Congrats on the release! which language was the most challenging to localize, and did anything unexpected come up during testing?
@ashir_murtaza1ย Thanks! ๐ Honest answer: since the four languages are AI-assisted (I review and refine, and Italian is my own), the translating itself wasn't really harder for one than another โ that effort was the same across the board.
The challenge was elsewhere: German. It's the longest of the four, so it's the one that stress-tests every tight spot in the UI โ menu bar, badges, the notch. Nothing overflowed in the end, but it's where I held my breath.
And the real surprise came in testing, not translating: a lot of text wasn't in the obvious UI labels โ it lived in computed values the usual string-extraction tools quietly skip, so the only way to catch it was to run the app in each language and look. Even after launch, testing in Italian turned up a couple of spots still in English (the menu bar view and the notch) โ exactly what a small follow-up shipped today fixed.
