Hi everyone! I'm Tran, a member behind MIMIR, a travel app that tells you stories about the places around you as you wander through a city. We built MIMIR because we wanted exploring a city to feel more like discovering stories than collecting landmarks. We wanted to know why a place mattered while we were actually standing there, not hours later reading Wikipedia. One thing we've been very intentional about is the content. We use AI to help write our stories, but we don't ask it to make things up. Every story starts with reliable historical sources that we curate ourselves, and every draft is reviewed, edited, and fact-checked by us before it reaches the app. That process is slower than generating thousands of stories with a single prompt, but we think it's worth it. That's why we're starting with just one city: our own backyard, Helsinki, where we've already published 300+ stories. Today's launch isn't a finish line. It's the point where we finally get to hear what people outside our own bubble think. If you try MIMIR, we'd really appreciate honest feedback. What feels intuitive? What doesn't? What would make you use it on your next trip? I'll be here all day to answer questions, whether it's about the product, the tech, the business, or the mistakes we've made along the way.
