Hey Product Hunt! 👋 Aadish here, maker of Mapora! So incredibly excited (and honestly, pretty nervous!) to be launching my first ever app here today. 🎉 Mapora started from a personal wish: I wanted a way to visually log my travels and everyday moments on a map, kind of like a personal atlas of experiences, but without sharing it all publicly. I also love the nostalgic feel of Polaroids. So, I decided to combine these ideas! What is Mapora? It's a simple iOS app where you pin memories (photos + notes) to their exact location on a map. Each memory is presented as a digital Polaroid card. Privacy was key: I was tired of apps seemingly needing all my data. With Mapora, your photos are stored directly and only in your own Google Drive's private app data folder (using the drive.appdata scope) – meaning only you and the app itself can access those specific files. Text notes use secure Firebase Firestore. Your memories stay yours. The Journey: This has been a solo journey, built entirely using SwiftUI, Firebase, MapKit, and the Google Drive API. As my first real dive into app development, it's been a massive learning experience (shoutout to Stack Overflow!). How it's Free: The app is free to download. Your first memory save is ad-free. After that, saving/sharing involves watching a short rewarded ad to help support development. Would Love Your Feedback! 🙏 Since this is V1 and my first launch, I'd be incredibly grateful for your honest thoughts: Does the map journaling concept resonate? How intuitive is the flow for adding a memory? Any bugs or UI quirks? What features would you like to see added? I'll be here all day answering questions and soaking in the feedback. Thanks so much for checking out Mapora! 😊 ~ Aadish Let's connect on Twitter: @bhiyaooo
