I've made multiple comparisons between jpeg and dng and now knows why apple hasn't implemented in their own camera... the differences are just to marginal (for the file size). No more shadow details at all just a tad more highlights latitude but no noise reduction. The App is really well done though 😉

No way, you opening the DNG file in Camera Raw (or Lightroom)? Pull down highlights, contrast down, push shadows. Way more range than JPEG. Then look at closeups like this:

Dumb question: can Manual's DNG's be opened by Lightroom on iOS? e.g., do I ever have to open a photo on desktop ever again? (thanks, by the way! Huge fan of Manual)
nvm. Found a brilliant way of answering this- just trying the app myself. 🤓 I'll try a real question instead: is there any hope that Manual will eventually support the 7+'s dual cameras and the fun depth mapping it enables?
