Best Safari Extensions
What Makes a Great Safari Extension? To answer that question, I hand-picked seven of the very best Safari add-ons for:
β Privacy
π Shopping & Deals
π Reading & Social
ποΈ Productivity
𧩠Customization
π Search
π Passwords
What I found is that not all extensions are created equal.
Before installing any extension, itβs worth considering a few key factors beyond its features:
Privacy β Does it respect your privacy and avoid collecting unnecessary browsing data?
Compatibility β Does it integrate seamlessly with Safari and work across iPhone, iPad and Mac?
Ethics β Is it transparent about how it works, without hijacking links or monetising your browsing?
Support β Is it actively maintained, regularly updated and backed by a developer committed to keeping pace with the evolving web?
Every extension I selected meets these standards, delivering an experience that feels right at home on Appleβs platforms and within Safari.

the support/maintenance factor doesn't get talked about enough. i've had extensions that worked great for a year then just stopped getting updates and quietly broke after a safari update, way more annoying than a bad extension since you don't notice right away. a password manager and a reader-mode extension are the two i genuinely can't go without day to day.

@omri_ben_shoham1Β Definitely agree!
As a developer, it can be fairly easy to quickly vibe-code an extension; what is more challenging is continually updating, supporting and maintaining it once the initial launch excitement has disappeared.
For reader mode extensions, is the in-built Safari reader mode not adequate?
