The Mac menu bar is one of the defining characteristics of the Mac. Someone once called it ‘the north star’. 😎 It’s the best place to show little tidbits of information. But there is only so much room! In other words: you’re gonna have to choose. I mean; this handpicked directory already includes 200 sources in 20 categories. And they’re all real menu bar apps. (Although sometimes it’s difficult to decide whether an application is really a menu bar app or not. If a menu bar icon is solely a shortcut to opening some main app then I tend to ignore it. Do feel free to disagree. 😉) And please feel free to get in touch anytime or to submit new menu bar apps for inclusion. MacMenuBar.com is a one-man operation. I curate and maintain everything on here. Not powered by AI. 🤗

Great work! Maybe this will get me to finally finish the half-finished menu bar app languishing in my projects folder. Is there any way to put an icon or some sort of indication showing that a particular project is open source? I noticed that some mention it in the description and some don't. As someone who primarily learns by looking at and playing with other people's code it'd be super helpful with such a large collection.

You should make these icons as .svgs, they'd probably show up a little sharper on the site. Other than that, I love this!

No CloudApp under Cloud Apps??!? CloudApp is the best cloud app there is. It beats Droplr and Drop Share in every single feature category!

Hi Csaba, thanks for your feedback. I have thought about that, but prices do fluctuate a lot. It is impossible for me to keep track of them on MacMenuBar, in such way that the numbers are reliable. But of course you can always click on the hyperlink! ;)
