Loqua - Speak naturally. Move from thoughts to done.

by
Your thoughts shouldn’t have to slow down for a keyboard. With Loqua, you can speak naturally to turn rough ideas into ready-to-use writing, understand what’s on your screen, listen when you’d rather not read, and move work forward by voice—from rewriting and translation to scheduling and coding workflows. Less typing, less context switching, more time in flow.

Hi Product Hunt 👋 I'm Josh, founder of theloqua.ai. I am super excited to launch Loqua today, our next generation voice agent that understands your voice and screen, and it keeps getting better.

I've spent my whole career as a speech and LLM researcher — and honestly, no voice product ever did what I actually needed. So I know exactly where ASR and voice agents break.

It got personal when carpal tunnel, TFCC, and an old ski injury turned long hours at the keyboard into real pain. I live at my desk, deep in conversation with LLMs all day, and typing simply couldn't keep up with how fast I think. I wanted to speak the way I think — not the way I type.

Not a wrapper

Old dictation was a cascade of small models — transcribing sounds but never understanding *meaning*, and one mis-heard word broke everything downstream. So our team — a group of research scientists who've spent years training and optimizing models — set out to build it properly. Loqua is not a wrapper. Instead of gluing everything to LLMs, we built one full agentic omni model where your voice and your screen share the same context.

That single choice is what makes Loqua different. When you Capture to Ask — point at a chart, an error, or a table on your screen and just ask by voice — it reads code and tables more reliably, holds context better, and runs noticeably faster than bolt-on tools, thanks to a multimodal tokenizer and codec we designed ourselves. And because we train the model in-house, we keep sharpening it to real product needs and your feedback, every week.

Where we're headed

Voice and vision are only step one, though. The real direction is agentic — Loqua doing things for you. Say "remind me to send the Q4 draft at 3pm, and FaceTime Sarah" — and it happens, without you digging through menus or breaking your train of thought. Those little app-hunting detours are exactly what wreck your focus; Loqua takes them off your hands by voice so you can stay in the zone. And that's just our first attempt — next we're going after longer, multi-step tasks you can hand off in a blink and a simple sentence.

What you can do today
✍️ Speak, get polished text in any app
⚡ Capture to Ask — ask about anything on your screen
🎯 Get things done by voice across your Mac
🔊 Listen instead of read
🌐 ~100 languages, on macOS & Windows

Who it's for

It clicks fastest for people who live at a keyboard and now spend much of the day talking to AI — developers, PMs, researchers and vloggers. A developer speaks a change straight to their coding agent in Codex or Claude Code. A PM turns a rough spoken thought into a clean Slack update. Someone points at a chart on screen and just asks. And honestly, whatever you do all day — if your thinking outruns your hands, Loqua is for you.

AP, Yahoo Finance & PR Newswire just covered us: *"Voice-to-text was never enough. Meet voice that sees."*

Your keyboard isn't going away — you'll just need it less.

We're especially trying to figure out which workflows people most want to make voice-native. So I'm curious — what's something that's annoying to type today but would feel natural to just say out loud? I'll be in the comments all day. 🙏

Hey Product Hunt! ❤️

I'm Aria, the PM of Loqua.

As a PM, my day is a blur of context switches — writing docs, reviewing charts, managing calendars, answering messages. And every single time, I'd think: why am I typing all of this? Why can't I just say what I want and have it done?

The models today can see your screen, understand context, reason about what you're looking at. But the way these capabilities actually get integrated into how we work — it's still early. Not smooth enough. Not effortless enough. I think we're still far from what this should feel like.

That's why I'm building Loqua. My goal is to shape a new kind of product — one where frontier model capabilities are woven directly into your workflow, so working with a computer feels as natural as talking to a colleague.

If you have ideas on how to make your workflow more efficient, features you wish existed, or just strong opinions on how this should work — I want to hear them. We iterate very fast. Your feedback goes straight into the next version.

Let's build the ideal tool together.

Heyyyy Congrats for your launch🎉 Louqua sounds interesting! Also I'd like to know could this replace the 1st draft process for writers and content creators?

Of course! I think that’s one of the most natural ways to use Loqua.

Instead of staring at a blank page, you can talk through an idea naturally, and then use Loqua to turn that into a more structured first draft while keeping the original intent and voice.

You can then keep shaping it by voice — make it tighter, change the tone, restructure a section, etc.

Hey Product Hunt 👋 Miao here, one of the makers behind Loqua.

There’s something slightly ironic about my job:

I work in speech and language technology, and I still spend an absurd amount of my day typing.

I’ve spent years working across both ASR and TTS systems — building evaluation frameworks for speech recognition and synthesis, defining multilingual speech-quality standards, designing speech-data collection and validation workflows, and helping turn model behavior into product decisions.

So I’ve thought a lot about what it actually means for a machine to understand human language — not just recognize the words, but preserve intent, context, tone, and meaning.

And yet, as a user, voice input often still felt like work.

You couldn’t just think out loud.

You had to clean up the sentence in your head first. Slow down. Remove the “uhs.” Finish the thought. Basically, speak the way you would type.

Which always felt backwards to me.

Why should I have to adapt the way I think just so my computer can keep up?

That’s the part of Loqua I got really attached to.

At first, it was easy to describe it as voice typing. But the more we built, the less that description made sense.

Because what I actually want from voice isn’t just faster text.

I want to say a messy thought and get something useful back.

I want my computer to understand what I’m looking at without making me copy and paste everything.

Sometimes I’d rather listen than keep staring at another document.

And sometimes I don’t want to type, click, or switch tools at all — I just want to say what I need done and keep moving.

That’s why the idea of Loqua as a voice agent, rather than another transcription tool, matters to me.

The line I keep coming back to is:

Your keyboard isn’t going away. You’ll just need it less.

That’s the experience we’re trying to build toward: less time translating your thoughts into something a computer can understand, and more time staying in the flow of what you actually want to do.

If you try Loqua and ever catch yourself thinking, “I could’ve just typed this faster,” please tell me. 🥹

That’s exactly the kind of friction we want to fix.

Ever since my personal "AI"—my newborn son—arrived, my hands have been completely tied up.

As a strategy engineer, I needed a way to keep working with zero hands, so I started turning my daily workflows into quick voice commands. It turned out a few of us on the team had been thinking about the same problem, and things just clicked from there.

By the way, this entire post was written with loqua—the boss was crying, keyboard wasn't an option.

So please, don't worry about "bothering" me with too many questions! My hands are busy holding the baby, but replying to your comments takes zero effort now.

Can Loqua keep the original speaking style while improving grammar and structure?

Yes! Loqua can improve grammar, clarity, and structure without flattening everything into the same generic “AI-written” tone.

We try to preserve the original voice and intent as much as possible, while cleaning up things like awkward phrasing, repetition, or structure when needed.

You can also guide it more explicitly with instructions like “keep this casual,” “make it more concise,” or “keep my tone but make it clearer.”

The screenshot feature is such a natural interaction. Instead of explaining what you're looking at, you just show it.

Exactly! Sometimes showing the screen is way easier than describing what's on it.

kkkk yes, still exploring more ways to combine images and voice, feel free to share your ideas!!

Could I use Loqua to explain a complex idea verbally and turn it into a polished document?

Yes, you can use Loqua to explain a complex concept or process very long, disorganized brainstorming inputs. It will organize them into structured, well-ordered sections with polished output.

In addition, we are considering integrating features like voice notes to support users in generating structured documents, especially when they are taking meeting minutes. Stay tuned!

Absolutely — that's exactly what Loqua is designed for! Here's how it works:

  1. Continuous long-context input — You can speak freely and at length. Loqua keeps up with extended dictation sessions, so you can think out loud and explain your complex idea naturally, without worrying about losing context.

  2. Select & polish into Markdown — Once your thoughts are down, simply select any text and ask Loqua to refine it into a well-structured Markdown format — with headings, bullet points, and clean formatting.

  3. Append to your notepad by voice command — You can instruct Loqua to add new content directly to your notepad, building up your document piece by piece as ideas come to you.

In fact, your question perfectly captures why we built Loqua in the first place: fewer keystrokes, better content. Just speak your mind — and let Loqua turn your voice into a polished document. 🎙️✨

Does screenshot Q&A work with any app on Mac, or only supported applications?

Screenshot Q&A feature works across any app on the computer, You can use it to fit charts or perform any task requiring image recognition and understanding~

Whatever app you use, wherever you run, Loqua will be right here waiting for you.

Switching between apps and rewriting the same thoughts in different formats wastes so much time. Glad Loqua exists!

Thank you! The goal is to keep the thought moving instead of constantly translating it for each app.
