Thanks Ryan!! Though I have to admit, I do have every intention of changing the world…one blinking light at a time! Thanks for the love!

@loganknowitall Fist bump.

For those curious.. LookFor was originally built so my friends could find me at Coachella last year...and we were really surprised it worked. After Coachella, I thought it would be funny to launch a Kickstarter for it and to my surprise, the goal was met in 7 hours. With the money raised in the Kickstarter, I hired a developer from Planet1107 to make iOS and Android versions and threw LookFor on the app as soon as we could…just in time for music festival season! Because Product Hunt was so awesome to put us up today, LookFor will be free all day! I hope you all enjoy my dumb little app as much as I do! Logan

I had this exact idea for a way to find your Uber driver. It's like ship to ship signal flags. Sell it to Uber.

@arieljalali My first thought, Uber should implement this. I like this dumb app. 👌

@arieljalali Was going to say the same thing. Having an uber pull up in NYC with crap tons of other people around requires a phone call way too often. This would make it a breeze
Logan Riley
@arieljalali That's a really good idea!

@arieljalali @loganknowitall Speaking of Uber, what is that weird Uber vehicle you got in at the end of the video?
Logan Riley
@arieljalali @lylemckeany I think they called those things "Taxis" back in the day...it's like Uber for old people ;) But yeah, for some reason SF taxis are a whole bunch of random shapes and colors. I was almost afraid to walk into that one!

OMG, this is so dumb. Why are people spending time building stupid apps rather than meaningful solutions to big problems. We live in a bubble. ...I'm joking, for those that didn't pickup on the satire (yes, I actually have to call that out). Although "dumb" this could actually be useful at concerts and other crowded places. And to all the dumb app haters, please realize this isn't intended to change the world and I highly doubt @loganknowitall is raising a series A off this product alone. Like music, art, and other forms of creative expression, we should encourage (or at least tolerate) experimentation. If interested, I shared more of my thoughts here. cc @hunterwalk

@loganknowitall @hunterwalk @rrhoover this is so hashtag hashtag stupid that it will probably work. :)
:-)
@rrhoover you know it's really useful. I remember back when Nextel flip phones were in and you had the ability to change the covers. I remember I bought a case was clear and the front would light up in blue. Whenever I was meeting my friends and I couldn't find them Id call them and ask them if they could see me since my phone would light up

Also the 'attack epileptic app'

I don't get it. This isn't anything new. There is Look For Friends and Look4Me. What's different about this?
Logan Riley
@joedandachli Funny thing, "Look4Me", "Look For Friends" and an app called "Beacon" were knock offs that were made immediately after my Kickstarter in April. They literally used the same colors and everything. But they say imitation is the highest form of flattery, so I guess it all evens out ;) Though I have to give them credit, they did beat me to the App Store.

@loganknowitall Best of luck! Great video btw. Just curious, I see you got funded back in May. Why did it take so long to release this app?
Logan Riley
@joedandachli Totally valid question! One of our backers, Chupamobile, was amazing enough to connect me with a developer to make both the iOS and Android apps for only 1k. One of the original planned features of LookFor was a way that LookFor could autodetect another person's blinking light using a camera. Much of the development time was spent on that feature...which is still being worked on. But the research of that feature, my new job, the developer's workload (at that price...LookFor understandably wasn't the highest priority for them.) and of course the creation of the promo materials, all contributed to the app's delay. Thanks for the love!

Single-purpose apps are the best.

This is great. I'm already sending this to everyone I know going to Sasquatch this year. Finding people on that hill at night is IMPOSSIBLE.
Logan Riley
@paulgambill Thanks man!

So sick of the pedestrian hot takes and SV hit pieces. "Dumb" apps 4ever
Logan Riley
@basche42 Indeed!

Love it. Do one thing and do it well.
