Hey Product Hunt,
I built Locahl because editing my hosts file was the most annoying two minutes of my day. Every time I switched projects it was the same loop: sudo, permission denied, fix a typo, forget to flush DNS, then debug for ten minutes before realizing the cache was stale.
So I made the tool I wanted. Locahl lets you edit entries visually, switch between dev, staging and prod with one click, and flush DNS automatically. It backs up your file before every apply, so you can always roll back. It validates IPv4 and IPv6, handles bulk import, and stays fast even on huge files.
A few things I care about:
• It is fully local. Your data never leaves your machine.
• It works the same on Windows, macOS and Linux.
• It is a one time €4.99 purchase, not a subscription, and updates are included.
There is a live demo on the site if you want to try it before buying. I would love your feedback, and I will be here all day to answer questions.

Love that the whole thing sidesteps the terminal without losing the depth of control. The one-click DNS flush is the kind of small, thoughtful touch that tells me the team actually uses the app themselves.
