Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I started learning Spanish through YouTube videos — real interviews, vlogs, podcasts. It was working, but the process was exhausting. Every time I heard a word I didn't know, I'd pause the video, open a new tab, type out what I thought I heard, translate it, copy it to a notes app, then try to find where I was in the video again. For a 10-minute video that could mean 20+ interruptions. I kept doing it because I believed in the method — real content beats textbook sentences every time — but the friction was brutal. Then came the harder problem. Even after building up vocabulary, actually understanding spoken Spanish was a completely different wall. Native speakers don't speak the way courses teach you. The rhythm, the contractions, the speed — none of it matched. And I had no good way to train my ear. I'd listen, miss half of it, rewind, miss it again. Listening.Hiwar is what I wish had existed. Paste any YouTube URL, get a synced transcript, click any word to translate it in context, save vocabulary, and practice it — without ever leaving the page. The transcript also trains your ear over time: you hear the word and see it simultaneously, which is how listening comprehension actually improves. Built this solo. Still early, but fully working. Would genuinely love to hear what you think — especially if you're learning a language right now. What's your biggest frustration with language learning? 👇
