Lex - AI-powered word processor, to help you write faster

When I write, I often get stuck. It's a painful experience. With Lex, now I just type "+++" and AI will suggest what might come next. It can also generate headline ideas. The AI quality is mind-blowing!

Keen to play with this, and honestly anything that @nbashaw builds. :) What's the backstory here, Nathan!?
Nathan Baschez
@rrhoover ahh thank you!! I write a weekly column so I'm a pretty heavy Google Docs user. The gripes I had sort of kept piling up, and meanwhile I was curious about writing with GPT-3 and other text completion models to see if it could help any in the process. I tried some of the existing tools based on GPT-3 and the AI was awesome, but nothing had the features I needed from Google Docs that would enable me to use them daily. So I created Lex!

@rrhoover @nbashaw "the features I needed from Google Docs that would enable me to use them daily". Right on the spot. 👏

Love all these AI assistant tools being launched to support the creative process... even better one that comes from someone running an email newsletter company! Learn more about this launch on Nathan's podcast: https://open.spotify.com/episode...

Congrats on the launch, but IMO having a wait-list when launching and no goodies for the community is a red flag.

@alexander_nevedovsky totally understand where you’re coming from!! Will be rolling out access as quickly as possible

@nbashaw Would love to try it out when my cue comes. Props for Every though!

@alexander_nevedovsky Where is the red flag? @nbashaw has successfully launched many things now and they're all great and interesting. Genuinely curious as a builder myself who is prone to launching a list ahead of products being ready for all on day one.
Alexander Nevedovsky
@nbashaw @shellen My comment never mentioned anything about Nathan as a builder. He's done great things. ProductHunt has the name "product" in it for a reason — so those who don't have a product didn't use it in the same way along with those who have. Launching a list is just like that, a red flag for me. That's subjective of course.

@nbashaw @alexander_nevedovsky I see what your saying. Though this has a great demo. Looking forward to trying too.

Congratulations on the launch guys! 🚀 Well it's amazing how AI can assist us to write faster and come up with great suggestions. What’s the secret behind AI pouring the right emotions like a skilled writer? Best wishes for the future.

How is it better than 100 other A.I writing tools?
Nathan Baschez
@nok_moe good question! I’ve used most of them and haven’t found them to be a great environment to actually write in. I always end up going back to Google docs. But it’s a big pain to keep switching back and forth!

Does this mean the economics of Hardbound will work now? 🙃 Very excited to try this out, Nathan!
