Kyndr's concept of spreading kindness is much needed today. 💖 As a suggestion for the future, I would love to see some features that help users track their personal well-being or growth over time in the app. Good job, Caitlin!

Very interesting idea and love the design! Would you say this is similar to Reddit but with a kindness focus and not so strictly a forum? Also, consumer social is notoriously hard... would love some insights into the cold start problem and how you got community members to start posting to a new platform, thanks! And congrats!
Jordan Kerwin
@pamsny Hi Pamela! Thanks so much for your support! We've certainly found ourselves comparing aspects of our platform to reddit as well as a few other social platforms. I think we differ from reddit slightly in the way that we don't want to be as heavily forum-based as a social platform, we'd also like to incorporate other media elements and potentially encourage location-based communities as well. As we build our platform, we're also keeping in mind the safety of our users and I think that's one major way in which we differ from most of the other platforms, while we're still new and certainly not perfect, we really want to make an effort to create and build tools that support user/creator safety. As far as the cold start problem, we're kind of entering that phase now we're reaching out to community leaders or people that seem like they may want to be a community leader with us and gauging their interest in joining our platform. We've also done some beta testing and received feedback from users/community leaders and have modified our app based on their feedback, so we hope to have some features released over the course of the next few months that really encourage users / community leaders alike to join us. Thank you for your support!! :)

Kyndr sounds like such a necessary and uplifting platform! I'm curious, how does the app foster a sense of respect and inclusivity among its users? Also, have you considered partnering with organizations focused on mental health and well-being to provide additional resources or support within the community? Keep up the great work in spreading kindness and authenticity!
Jordan Kerwin
@dmytrosem Hi Dmytro, thank you so much for your thoughtful question!! As a start, as soon as you create an account with us, we ask you to agree to our pledge, which describes how we expect our users to behave on our platform, and if they don't adhere to our general principles we either send a warning or remove them entirely depending on the offense. We are also encouraging our community leaders to add guidelines to their communities so each community leader has a sense of control over how they expect their communities to function (some communities may ask for a higher level of sensitivity to a matter, thus we allow them to set their own guidelines). At this moment, we are also seeking our community leaders that align with our mission and principles, so when users create accounts and see the communities we have, they already have a sense of what we're supporting as a company. And lastly, we're really focusing our algorithms on things OTHER than engagement, we recognize engagement optimization has been a leading cause of mental health decline, etc. for social media users, and we really want to make a conscious effort to do things differently. And yes, we absolutely have considered that, and it's something we will certainly explore more over time! :)

@dmytrosem Thank you for your comment! I also run a Mindfulness community on the Kyndr app and we are actively trying to expand on those areas in our app. Thanks again!
