How should a map distinguish a documented appearance from an endorsement?

by

I’m building KStarTrail, a free map for restaurants connected to public videos, TV shows, and documented celebrity visits. The latest expansion covers 666 deduplicated places in Japan.

Each place currently shows why it is included, the public source, and a check date. I deliberately avoid ratings or recommended-by language because an appearance is not necessarily a current endorsement.

I’m deciding which cue should be most prominent:

• a documented-appearance label

• the source title and date beside the place

• a separate venue-status note

If you saw a restaurant in a video and were planning a trip, what would make you trust—or distrust—the connection?
