Curious how this compares to large incumbents like Duolingo. 🤔

@rrhoover our initial goal is to create something simple, fun and lightweight and keep adding features over time. We're in it for the long haul as with iTranslate ;-)

Learning language(s) helps to better understand others as well as oneself. Super excited about the whole category of language learning apps and their UX (just compare this to what we had 10 years ago. incredible) and I’m even more excited to see iTranslate launching Lingo to push further. Lingo is definitely worth giving a try.

Did you create the content in-house or do you use any partner/3rd party supplier?

@__tosh thx for the question! We created the content by applying AI on our large text corpus and figuring out words and phrases that are important in a specific language. We want to add other content like dialogues with a similar approach in future versions as well.

The simplicity of the UI design is super interesting. Why did you decide to go with clean & simple vs. more complex & feature-rich? Thanks @alexmarktl @ylliqerkini

Thank you for creating this app!

Pros:

It's so super simple and you can pick up words so fast!

Cons:

I don't think that there's a better alternative, because I simply love it!

Hi is it possible to learn English in English (lol). I can think of a lot of Arab family and friends that speak basic English and would like to improve it. It's impossible to support learning English in every language, so I'm not asking for Arabic -> English, but I think English -> English could benefit a lot of people I know.

Phonetic pronunciations, ability to choose gender voice, review capability once you’ve reached 50 words, explanation as to why subject pronunciation is incorrect.
