Image Guards - Find potential copyright risks hiding in your website images

Image Guards started with a pretty simple question: how many businesses actually know where every image on their website came from? Working with websites, we kept seeing the same pattern. Images get added by agencies, freelancers, employees, clients and now AI tools. Years later, the website is still using them, but the original source, licence or context is often long gone. At first, we were focused heavily on copyright and image provenance. But as we dug deeper, it became obvious that the problem was broader. The same websites also had broken images, duplicates, missing alt text and old assets nobody was really managing. So Image Guards evolved into a way to actually see what is sitting across a website and flag what may deserve a closer look. One thing building this has made very clear: websites are much better at keeping images than keeping the history behind them. Would genuinely love to hear how other teams manage this today.
