idmly - Turn any HTML/CSS design into an editable InDesign file

by
idmly converts a self-contained HTML/CSS design into a native, editable Adobe InDesign file. Real text frames, named paragraph styles, charts as editable vectors. Not a flattened PDF. Works with any CSS framework. First two pages free, $49 lifetime, no subscription.

Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I make a lot of multi-page reports for clients, sometimes 40-page things full of graphs and charts, and I'd been building the layouts in Claude. The problem: Claude hands you HTML, and clients always need editable, open InDesign files they can tweak themselves. Translating those designs into InDesign by hand meant rebuilding everything box by box, font by font. Hours of work, every single time. So I hacked together something to automate it for myself. idmly takes that HTML design and converts it straight to a native InDesign .idml. I honestly didn't expect it to work as well as it did. It kept the fonts. The styles. The page geometry. The charts came through as real editable vectors, not flat images. Saved me hours per deliverable. After leaning on it for my own client work for a while, I figured other designers stuck doing the same manual rebuild might want it too. So I cleaned it up and put it out. The first two pages of any file convert free, so you can throw your own design at it and see if it holds up. $49 once for the rest, no subscription. Would love to hear what breaks it. If a file converts badly, send it over (there's a one-click button right in the converter) and I'll dig into what went wrong.
