I have been thinking about various AI use cases recently and (somehow) landed on building a tool that scans the back of your hand and provides a customized analysis with various aging markers.
Most people have a solid facial skincare routine, SPF, retinol, etc., but completely neglect their hands. There are a variety of posts on Reddit and elsewhere with people asking "How old do my hands look?"
I built HandScanAI (www.handscan.ai) to quantify this. You upload a photo of the back of your hand and it estimates your biological age using the same markers dermatologists assess: skin texture, vein prominence, solar lentigines, collagen density, and nail condition. It also compares against a face photo if you add one, which gives you a gap number.
Testing it on friends and family, the average gap was around 8 years, with hands looking older than the face. A few people had gaps over 15 years, almost always correlating with outdoor jobs or a long history of no hand SPF.
