I've been using Cloudo by @oprostrednik for a lot of what Google is going to offer. It searches across other programs as well, and I would highly recommend it. Plus, it's available to use now.
@ehidle@oprostrednik Also using Cloudo. It has many new integration now, not just Gdrive or mails but also Asana, Jira, Hipchat, Slack and so on... https://www.cloudo.co
@ehidle@oprostrednik I agree – why stop at Google services? Cloudo connects to Dropbox, Evernote, Slack and more. Not to mention the fact that you can create tasks for Asana and launch your cloud apps if you wish so straight from Cloudo.

@ehidle so what you're saying is, Google springboard is like "hooli"search, while "cloudo" is like pied piper search?
@brucekraftjr@ehidle First time ever being compared to Pied Piper! Sure is an honor :)

Great idea! That's what we do at @GoXendo (https://xen.do) right now. Google Apps and 40+ services pre-integrated with deep search and machine learning. Search everything, in one shot.
Is it just me or is Gmail search horrendous? Mac mail has better search. I expect more from Google, the top search engine out there. Certainly the most popular.

I'm disappointed they limit it to Google app for work users. As a law student , I need (and thus, have opinions on) a service like this, too! Cloudo has been good, using Lacona at the moment and love it.

@andym_dc This is like the first thing ever that they have trialled with Google Apps before free consumers. As someone with a personal account on Google Apps (for the custom domain), I find this a refreshing change. I got Inbox late, and I haven't got Spaces yet at all. You don't know how lucky you are.
I doubt that this is the sign of a new trend though – this feature probably is probably expected to be consumed by far more businesses than by individuals, for obvious reasons.

@mroz_io fair enough about waiting for other stuff (although I didn't sign you up for Google apps!) but I don't see why your last line is necessarily obvious.
According to their site Google are currently previewing Google Springboard with a small set of Google Apps customers and looking to include more customers through a limited Early Adopter Program. Their note states if you’re the admin of a company that runs on Google Apps for Work, you can express your interest in joining this program by completing the form on the site. Could be a cool one to test out for increased productivity if you run on Google apps.
