Goldfish - Press Option. It knows your work and replies like you

by
Most AI tools make you explain the context before they can help. Goldfish already has it. It privately remembers what you’ve been working on across your Mac, then helps you write better from any app. Press Option in a text field to draft replies, summarize threads, rewrite sentences, or recall important details from your recent work without copying, pasting, or re-explaining the whole backstory.

I’ve been using Goldfish for a few days now and I love it. I’ve already recommended it to friends, and it’s been genuinely useful in my day-to-day workflow.

The only thing I’d really like is some kind of visual feedback when using Dictate with the microphone. Just a small indicator that it’s listening or processing would make that flow feel clearer. Congrats on the launch!

This is awesome. Writing has never exactly been my strong suit, so having something that already understands the context and helps me sound like a functional adult is extremely useful.

Also, full disclosure: I may or may not be using Goldfish to write this comment about Goldfish, which feels a little like asking a mirror if your haircut looks good.

The part that really clicks is not having to do the usual AI ritual of copy thread, paste thread, explain thread, apologize to the robot for the messy thread, then ask for a reply. Pressing Option in the text field and having it already know what I’m responding to feels like the way this should have worked from the beginning.

Very cool product. Slightly spooky in the “wait, that was actually helpful” way, but mostly just useful.

Hey this is cool,

Isn't a bit of a security problem though?

Hey guys! I saw this and I was really excited to use it, but I ran into a problem with the onboarding. My laptop does not have a right ctrl key :( so I cannot get past that screen. I have a HP spectre 360 if that makes any difference.

Anyways, let me know if anything changes. I would love to be able to use Goldfish!

Writing like someone is impressive technically, but building long-term habits usually depends on much more than imitation.

Curious—what keeps users reaching for Goldfish weeks later instead of reverting to their old workflow?

Congrats on the launch! The local MCP server for Claude Desktop is the part that caught my eye. Most "memory" tools want to sit in the cloud, so keeping everything in a local database and still exposing it to other AI apps is a smart trade-off. Curious how you handle context selection though: when I press Option in a random text field, how does Goldfish decide which slice of my recent work is relevant to that reply? That retrieval step seems like the hardest part to get right.
