Linear vs other project planners

I checked out https://linear.app a few weeks ago. It's a very slick looking product. And some folks feel really passionate about Linear. I have heard engineers say: "I would leave my role if my company decided to switch from Linear."
Question for those who have extensive experience with Linear: what makes Linear such a great product? Should I seriously consider migrating to Linear? I have used Jira and Asana a bunch. And, honestly, Jira and Asana seem fine. What am I missing?

What's your biggest pain point or frustration with current language-learning apps?

Hello Everyone!

We're building a personalized language-learning app inspired by our own experiences and frustrations with the one-size-fits-all approach of traditional apps. Our goal is to offer customized and adaptive learning paths, powered by user data and tailored to individual interests, goals, and motivations.

I won t go into full pitch mode just yet, but we d love to start a discussion around this question:

  • What s your biggest pain point or frustration with current language-learning apps?

Do ideal work conditions matter to you or can you work from anywhere?

Everyone focuses differently. And for a lot of people, where and how they work makes a huge difference.

Some need silence. Others need background noise. Some can t stand the cold, others lose focus if it s too warm. Coworking spaces? Only if they have the right vibe. Offices? Only if colleagues aren t interrupting every five minutes.

How did you finance your business?

How did you get the seed capital to start your business?

I see mostly VC-funded companies on Product Hunt (mostly YC).
But are there people who fund their businesses in other ways?

How to benefit from the Product Hunt forums?

Yesterday I was thinking about how users of this platform can get the most out of Forums. Here are some ideas: 1 There aren't that many posts in the "Introduce yourself" section, so if you contribute something, there's a better chance of getting noticed by the community. 2 Even if you are an old member of the community, you can "reintroduce" yourself. A lot of people came here, so not everyone may remember you or know about you. At the same time, you can provide help to people in the areas you excel in just mention it in a post. 3 Recent posts allow you to tag people. When you are co-creating a product with someone, tag other collaborators in the "Self-promotion" section. This will automatically notify them as well and they will more likely support the post. 4 Ask questions that can help you improve the product. Conversations are now more moderated and even commented on by PH team members. This way you can get a professional perspective and improve your product or your next launch. 5 You can also take advantage of the Product Forums contribute to "p/Figma", "p/Supabase", "p/Notion" and other popular product forums... You can, for example, break down the most common problems of that particular tool and provide solutions. (Forum Threads appear e.g. in the sidebar for a given product for extra visibility) If you have any other ideas on how to take advantage of this new feature, I would like to see the opportunities from your perspective.

How do you use technology mindfully - as a tool - when you're a founder?

Hey folks! I'm currently writing a book about cutting down on the level of interaction we have with technology, being more mindful with it. I was wondering if any makers/creators/founders wanted to share some insights into how you use tech as a tool, and set boundaries on it - rather than being owned by it? Could be around setting limits on phone use, setting limits on online tools etc. Thank you!!!

What kind of Black Friday deals are you gonna offer?

According to some sources, Black Friday is the 2nd most profitable holiday for marketers.

People are so used to getting deals/discounts on this day.

Do you have an exit strategy when starting a new project?

Starting with the end in mind can completely change how you play the game. It sets the rules from day one and gives you clarity on when it s time to step away.

I ve noticed founders fall into two camps:
